Termination of Child Care:

If for some reason the parent / legal guardian decides to remove their child from the Child care center he/she is required a two week written notice. Payment is due for the two week notice period regardless the child is attending the center or not.

If for some reason the Child care center cannot provide services to the child a two week written notice will be given to the parent/ legal guardian. The reason for termination can be failure of parent to pay  for one months, failure to complete required forms, lack of parental cooperation, inability to meet the child’s needs without additional staff, failure for the child to adjust to the center after a reasonable amount of time.

Behavior Management:

Behavior management is a learning experience. Teachers use variety of approaches including, anticipation, redirection and problem solving. Teachers will use a positive discipline approach, which teaches children how to behave appropriately. They will respect the rights of the child, the group and adults. Teachers will guide the children helping them make good decisions while teaching them self-esteem.

Our philosophy regarding discipline methods and guidance is:

  • Positive
  • Consistent with the age and developmental needs of the child
  • Lead to the child’s ability to maintain self-control.

Children are not allowed to hit, bite or shove other children or verbally      abuse them. If these behaviors repeat for more than three times after reminding the child to behave we redirect the child to another area, try to understand his/her needs, help the child to get along with other children.

After all these the time out is used for 1-3 minutes depending on age. We are trying to talk to the child, to explain him/her that everybody likes him/her. We are trying to play with the child who misbehave, making him/her understand that it is dangerous to hit or bite others. When the child continues to hit, bite or shove and it’s dangerous for him/her or others we hug the child, hold him/her  until the child behaves himself/herself.

Sign-in/Sign-out Procedures:

After the child has been determined to be without obvious signs of illness or injury by the teacher the parent or person responsible for child signs the child in. After the child has been determined  to be without obvious signs of injury the parent or responsible person signs the child out. The sign-in sheets are on the clipboard usually near the classroom door.
